Organisational Change

On 1 April 2010 the Scottish Health Council revised its core functions and changed its staffing structure to reflect its key priorities for the future. This page explains the reasons behind the change and lists key dates in the timeline.

Timeline

April 2005 The Scottish Health Council is established.
 
Summer 2008 After three years, an independent review of the organisation is carried out in line with normal practice.
 
November 2008 The reports from the independent review are published:
Spring 2009 Following the independent review, and in consultation with key stakeholders, the Scottish Health Council develops its Action Plan: A form fit to function PDF document
 
July 2009

The Action Plan is approved by Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing.  The letter is available on theLink opens in a new windowScottish Government website.
 

Autumn 2009 - Spring 2010 The Action Plan is implemented in partnership with staff,   Link opens in a new windowNHS Quality Improvement Scotland and Trade Unions.  The new senior management positions are appointed.
 
April 2010 The new staff structure and revised functions become effective.
